If it doesn't feel so good or so right, it's because you're thinking as a human not as a vampire. It is not indecent to glamour people around, it's not that you're abusing that power because that's just part of your nature as a vampire. Remember that vampires need to eat as well, in the beginning vampires were just killing people until humans and vampires came up with all of those ethical rules and the law. However, you need to understand that if you share your world with humans, then you must adapt to them as well and live under each other's rules. Nevertheless, you're a vampire and you cannot afford to not glamour people, of course it must be within certain boundaries in order for you to not hurt them (see? both species' agreements or law). You can have fun and glamour people because you CAN, just make sure not to ridiculize or hurt people. You have a reputation as a vampire, try to make a balance between both, the human and vampire worlds. :D (Sorry if my language is too academic, I'm writing my thesis lol)
Hey Jess. Hmm well this is very hard for me because as a human I obviously do not possess the power of glamourin people. Well I think in your heart of hearts you know whats right. I don't think really what you did to Hoyt--glamourin him and all was right--but I am also not in your position and completely understand. Um, maybe if there was a way, if you could have another vampire, Bill perhaps talk to Hoyt for ya that would help--you know explain to him that its a hard life for you and your still only 18 and you love him and would never do anything to betray his love, but you need a more varied diet. Maybe if he heard it from someone else it helps--lord knows thats what my dad does--just listens to everyone else and never his own daughter. Anyway enough about me... Oh also--Bill is responsible for your condition--even if it is a blessing and you shouldn't have to worry about botherin him. It's his duty to teach you everythin and it ain't right that he doesn't no matter what power he has. Talk to him, and find other young ones there are bound to be more. Oh, even talk to Sam. Also, I know you're mad at Sookie n all but she didn't do nothin and she might be of some service to ya. Aw! You're my favorite character! I sure wish I had that glamouring power! It'd probably come in handy once or twice. Relationships are hard, so what you did for Hoyt...is totally fine. When you start using your glamour power to get what you want from people indiscriminately, then you might want to worry. You did it to not cause him pain, though. The real problem is the next time that you want something different for dinner. That is totally understandable. Nobody wants to eat chicken every day of their life. Sometimes you want some steak. The key is to talk to Hoyt and get him to understand before it happens again. Maybe you could start with those microwave meals you were talking about and give him the same one every day until he complains, and then explain it to him. Maybe he'll understand and maybe he won't. You can cross that bridge when you come to it, though.

It would probably be a good idea to only glamour people when it will help them and others, but it's your call in the end. And I would keep going to Bill with your questions. They may seem petty to you, but he is your maker, and seeing how he handled you when you came to him with the Hoyt issue, I'm sure he won't mind too much. He cares for you, remember that. I hope you figure out a good way to know when glamouring is acceptable or not in your mind's eye. Maybe compare each new glamouring situation to the Hoyt one and when Bill tried glamouring you when he turned you. Whichever side the current situation leans toward, go with that decision. Good luck!
Just think about it this way Jess what would be more decent, Killing somebody after you've fed off of them or just glamouring them to make them forget what happened. Glamouring is a part of a vampire's nature. There are times when we need to use it but I'd suggest not to use it on Hoyt. That might cause a bit of trouble in the releationship. As with your questions and asking bill about them, he is your maker after all and he cares about you, he won't mind at all for you to ask him questions, as your naturally bound to have them (what babie doesn't?).
hey Jessica i think the ethisc of galmouring really depends on the situation, take yours, for example bill glamoured you so that you wouldnt feel pain when he turned you. So there he had the compassion of humanity but the powers and the knowldge of being a vampire and that its a painfull process, but he used them together, and i think if you cn covet both of those abbilities the way bill had then you will have nothing to worry about! plus maybe you should give bill another try he may be king but he is also your maker and yes eric would give you a goofy grin lol best of luck girly! sabrina
