When I think about my blood, I think about its healing nature. Its way of connecting me to the man that I love. At least that’s how it used to be. But lately, it’s like the little rope tied to him at one end, and me at the other? It’s fraying or unraveling. All the fibers are coming apart and now we’re just a mess of string that used to be something strong.
When I think about things that are shit, I think of my daddy’s beatings. I think of what I did to Hoyt, with that guy at Fantgasia. I think of whoever or whatever beat Jason near to his death.
But my blood? My blood ain’t shit. Hoyt Fortenberry, you could not have been more wrong. My blood just saved someone’s life. Maybe it’s my fault that the rope is coming apart, but it ain’t my blood’s fault.
There are things that are shit, and then there are things that are not shit.

I know that you are pissed that Hoyt called your blood "shit". But the thing that you need to understand, is that is some ways, your blood is shit.
Hoyt is a great guy, and from what I have seen, really in love with you. He is an honourable guy who tries to do what he believes is right, even if it means taking a beating. He is against drugs, and lets face it, that is what your blood is, and you need to come to terms with that.
Vampire blood does bad things to humans. Sure it can help heal people, but it is also a very powerful mood altering drug, and it is very addictive. Morphine is a great drug that can help people. But its still not the kind of thing you want to put into your body.
Your relationship is heading into a rough patch. You were very young when you met him and you have been through a tremendous period of personal growth and are trying to discover who you are now. All of that is good stuff but it has meant that you are examining your relationship with Hoyt now as well.
Vampire human love life is complicated. Look at Bill and Sookie, though I suppose that could even be your model for a normal relationship. Relationships are hard, but they are even harder when you have a mixed living/un-dead relationship.
You have some deep thinking to do. You might be deciding that a relationship with Hoyt, or any human at all, might not be something that you want in your life (death). That is fine, and it is your choice. But don't try to pin this on Hoyt. Don't make this about something its not. Don't make this about him calling your blood - which is a dangerous drug - shit. At least be honest with yourself and with him that its really about you and trying to find your place in the world.

Sometimes men do that Jessica. They take all they can, then they throw you out like a peice of trash, then expect you to go back to them begging for forgiveness! But some men don't think how things, words, will affect people if they come out wrong. Women do it to, if we dont pay attention carefully enough. So dont take it to hard. Hoyt may have just worded it wrong.
It is the unfortunate thing that when you say something it can be taken the wrong way. Wish it had been myself in Jason's shoes.
