Nowhere to Go

On my fifteenth birthday, after having dinner at the church with my family, I snuck out with a few friends. We said we were going to get some root beer floats at Linnea and Tony’s Diner, but instead we went to the park one town over, where the public school kids would gather with brown bagged forties and stolen vodka. I had never been before, but my friend Erica used to go all the time and she was introducing me to everyone. I forgot most of ‘em, but there was this girl there, Nikki... she smelled kinda bad, and her hair was all tangled. I think she did it on purpose, she called them dreadlocks or something, but it didn’t look so good. I asked where she was from and she said she was born in De Soto parish, but she lived on the streets now. When I asked her why, she said got nowhere else to go. Then she shrugged her shoulders, lit up a hand-rolled cigarette and smiled at me like I was the biggest idiot she’d ever seen. I never felt so sheltered, you know? I knew I was going home to my cozy little house, where my mama would be folding my underwear and baking fresh cookies or some shit. And although my daddy could be mean as a hell, I still had a roof over my head. Even after I was turned, I had the old Compton place. And then Hoyt and I had a home, all to ourselves.

But now? I really got nowhere to go. I wonder if Nikki’s still living on the streets or if she found herself a home. Or maybe home is just a feeling, and it doesn’t matter where your feet are. Maybe wherever you are, that’s home.

sometimes having now where to go will lead you to self discovery of who you really are.

I just hope that you'd realize that Hoyt was the guy for you, He did accept you for who you are, he did not judge you for being a vampire instead he showed you that being a vampire is not an issue for loving someone unconditionally, he also turned his back on his mother for you, and he gave you a home even if he knows that there would be no chance for the both of you to have a family. Hoyt was the guy who loved you without the blood, and has given you his blood for you to fed on (how sweet is that)!!!

I hope Bill will make you realize that loving someone is not based on the connection of blood but for what is really inside of your heart.

Jessica, don't listen to any of these people bashing you for leaving Hoyt. After this episode, I literally did the same thing. I had a good Christian guy and stuff but it's not for me, he wasn't for me. I left him for my best friend's brother, who is eerily similar to Jason but also my dream guy. I like him a lot and hope that this week, things work out in your favor. You are my favorite character in the whole show, Jess. I look up to you like you wouldn't believe. you made a good choice by not continuing to live with Hoyt. If you'd stayed longer, not loving him, you would have tore him apart even more than you did. I like Hoyt and I liked my version of him, this guy named Cody. but we are just too different and so are you and Hoyt. If you were still living with your parents and you were still human, no doubt you'd be great with hoyt but you've seen real life now. and you can't go back to that. Good luck Jessica. Go kill some witches (just not Tara!!)

I Know that break-ups are hard, but time will heal the wound. Hoyt shouldnt have been an ass about it and he should have let you talk. If he cant understand that relationships require communication on both sides, then you dont need him. Jason did kiss you back, but Hoyt is his bestfriend. You know that and so Jason is worried about hurting him. Even thought it hurt you in the process. Bill will help you. And we both know he has enough room for you to crash there.
P.S. You might want to get there as soon as possible to help with Sookies little problem.
Love you Jess,

I have a few questions. Did you really think that Hoyt would turn into jelly and start grovelling at your feet begging you not to leave? Did you really think Jason would just welcome you with open arms after breaking his best friend's heart?
It looks like you didn't know either of them as well as you thought you did. I think the trouble stems from the simple fact that you are a vampire who was trying to have a normal human relationship. Both you and Hoyt fooled yourselves into thinking that was possible, and it's not. You are a vampire and any relationship you have with a human will have to be based on that simple truth. So next time Jess...throw out the rulebook! It might take a couple of hits and misses but eventually you will find a relationship that is right for you.

Jessica, in this dark hour of war, you must return to your maker, King Bill. It's the only safe place, and the only person who both cares about you AND understands the vampire side of you. Jason & Hoyt both care about you, but one is hurt, the other trying to be honorable. Neither can truly "get" the vampire. Sexual loyalty is one thing, but fang loyalty is inherently impossible. You need time and a safe place to think this through.
